Public Service Announcement, City of St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada

My city is a joke. They attempt huge projects but can't even maintain safety in existing dangerous situations.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

For immediate release
Clear sidewalks are safe sidewalks

Feb. 3, 2011 – The snow is no longer flying but that doesn’t mean it’s no longer an issue for
some residents.

Winter can be a difficult time for persons with disabilities to get around the community. People
who use mobility devices along sidewalks, to reach accessible parking spaces and other
pathways can find getting around challenging when snow and ice are on the ground.

Residents’ and business owners’ attention to clearing snow and ice along sidewalks, pathways
and parking spaces to keep these areas safe and accessible is appreciated.

In accordance with the City’s bylaw, residents and business owners have up to 24 hours after
the end of a snowfall to clear snow and ice from sidewalks abutting their property.
